Overview:
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an effective model of communication that uses a collaborative, goal-oriented style designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to change goals. In this workshop, Rhonda DiNovo, LMSW, will lead an exploration of the style, spirit, and process of MI. Through a review of the history and theoretical framework, we will learn the importance of style and spirit in MI communication. Participants will gain an understanding of the process of facilitating MI communication to engage people and enhance our interactions in professional practice and everyday life.
