OVERVIEW:

This interactive day lays the groundwork for effective and ethical clinical supervision by exploring supervision as a distinct professional practice, separate from therapy, management, or teaching. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and functions of the supervisor, including administrative, educational, and supportive components. Through engaging discussion and applied activities, attendees will examine major supervision models and theoretical frameworks, assessing their benefits and limitations in diverse practice settings.

The day emphasizes self-awareness and adaptability, helping supervisors tailor their approach to supervisees’ learning styles and theoretical orientations. Participants will also deepen their understanding of cultural humility, exploring how identity, power, and privilege influence the supervisory relationship.
