OVERVIEW:

From unpaid and forced labor to current pay gaps, women of color have seen little to no opportunities to grow their wealth in America. When helping a woman of color gain wellness, the conversation of her finances is often neglected, ignored, or forgotten, which can leave women of color in a never-ending cycle of debt and fear, coupled with feelings of inadequacy. In this 3-hour course, participants will learn how the labor of women of color has been used to build America while simultaneously leaving them destitute, how those generational experiences have impacted women of color today, and how to help them reclaim their economic power.

OBJECTIVES:

By attending this training, you will be able to:

  • Examine tools for financial wellness.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of systemic barriers in work and finances for women of color.
  • Identify money behaviors and habits and how they impact money relationships.
  • Apply mindfulness practices to encourage financial wellness.
