This 1-hour continuing education webinar is designed for midlife professionals and their clients who are experiencing persistent fatigue, changes in mood, or reduced motivation, even when sleep appears adequate. In midlife, hormonal fluctuations can influence energy regulation, stress response, and overall functioning. This program will review the current science on midlife fatigue, including how hormonal changes may affect energy production and why “push harder” or overtraining approaches can sometimes exacerbate burnout and emotional distress.
Participants will be introduced to a polarized training framework that incorporates both brief, higher-intensity movement and longer periods of low-intensity activity, with an emphasis on how such approaches may support stamina, resilience, and overall well-being when applied safely and within one’s medical and physical limits. The webinar will also outline evidence-informed nutrition concepts—such as incorporating complex carbohydrates, fiber, and diverse protein sources—that may help promote more stable energy and support hormonal balance.
Content will focus on education and practical application within professional scope of practice; it is not intended to replace medical assessment or individualized treatment. By the end of the session, participants will have a set of research-informed strategies and tools they can consider integrating into their own self-care and into client education, as appropriate to their role and licensure.
By attending this training, you will be able to:
1. Explain how hormonal shifts in midlife impact energy production, mood, and resilience.
2. Apply the polarized training approach by incorporating short bursts of high-intensity exercise with longer low-intensity activity to sustainably boost energy.
3. Identify key nutrition strategies including complex carbohydrates, fiber, and varied protein sources that support steady energy and reduce burnout.
