Overview:

This continuing education course examines the role of preparation, safety, informed consent, and ongoing support in psychedelic exploration, with particular attention to the experiences and mental health needs of women. Based on the Behavioral Health Today episode featuring wellness and psychedelic educator Linden Schaffer, the course introduces the Five S’s of Safety: screening, set, setting, support, and sustainability. Participants will consider how physical and psychological readiness, expectations, environment, community support, and post-experience integration can influence psychedelic experiences and their potential outcomes. The course also explores considerations that may be especially relevant to women, including hormonal transitions, societal pressures, personal agency, and the importance of creating informed and supportive environments for psychedelic exploration.
