ODL 423: Introduction to Self-Meaning Based Therapy (SMBT)
1 Credit Hour: Self-Meaning Based Therapy® (SMBT) introduces a trauma-informed, neuroscience-grounded approach that shifts the focus from pathology to meaning. Rather than viewing persistent patterns as resistance or dysfunction, SMBT understands them as expressions of a person’s core Self-Meaning – a deeply held, experiential sense of self formed in early relational contexts. In this 1-hour overview, clinicians will be introduced to the foundational concepts of SMBT and begin to explore how working directly with one’s core Self-Meaning can deepen therapeutic impact across modalities.
ODL 380: EMDR Essentials: An Introductory Overview for Helping Professionals
(Attention Case Managers ONLY: CCMC expires on this course on 1/9/27 and will not be renewed. Please complete before this date.) 2 Credit Hours: This 2-hour introductory training is designed for social workers, counselors, nurses, case managers, psychologists, and other helping professionals who want a clear, accessible overview of EMDR. Participants will explore the basic theory behind EMDR, including the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, key terminology, and the structure of the standard eight-phase protocol. Through lecture, case examples, and guided discussion, attendees will gain a foundational understanding of when and why EMDR may be indicated, what it looks like in practice, and how it fits within a broader trauma-informed treatment plan.
