OVERVIEW:
Bullying is often viewed as a childhood issue, yet it occurs across every stage of life, from children in schools, extracurricular activities, sports, and community settings, through adolescence and young adulthood, to adulthood in the workplace, intimate relationships, healthcare settings, 55+ communities, and long-term care environments. This interactive 5-hour training provides clinicians with a lifespan framework for understanding the many forms bullying can take, its psychological, emotional, and relational impact on individuals, and practical strategies for assessment, intervention, and prevention. Participants will examine developmental considerations, family dynamics, technology and cyberbullying, vulnerable and marginalized populations, and evidence-informed approaches that promote resilience, empathy, healthy relationships, and lasting behavioral change.
OBJECTIVES:
By attending this training, you will be able to:
1. Examine the developmental, psychological, social, and environmental factors that contribute to bullying behaviors and victimization across childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and older adulthood.
2. Recognize the various forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, relational, cyber, workplace, healthcare, family, and elder bullying, and their emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and relational impact across the lifespan.
3. Assess risk factors, protective factors, warning signs, and the unique needs of individuals experiencing or engaging in bullying across diverse populations and settings.
4. Integrate evidence-informed clinical skills and intervention strategies that promote emotional regulation, empathy, healthy communication, resilience, boundary setting, conflict resolution, and effective bystander responses.
5. Implement practical prevention strategies that foster safe environments, strengthen protective factors, and reduce bullying across schools, workplaces, healthcare settings, community organizations, and older adult living environments.

PRESENTER BIO:
Alyse November, PhD, LCSW, obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s degree in social work from Adelphi University, New York, and her PhD in clinical sexology from IICS. She is credentialed by the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
Alyse is the founder of Different Like Me, a company with a staff of over 30 professionals providing psychotherapy, psychoeducational testing and cognitive rehabilitation. As a licensed clinical social worker, Alyse provides psychotherapy to individuals across the lifespan. A substantial portion of her practice has focused on addressing challenges faced by children, adults, seniors, and families ranging from trauma, narcissistic and borderline family recovery, aging, chronic illness, divorce, trans care, relationships, parenting, and special needs, end of life issues, dementia, caregiving, educational challenges, anxiety, and depression. Her PhD dissertation focused on the assessment of sexual challenges and dementia. Alyse also created DLMU, which is an educational platform that provides seminars for both professional and personal development.
