1 Credit Hour: This continuing education course explores the relationship between personal agency, patterns of thought and behavior, and experiences of anxiety and depression. The course examines how perceptions, habitual responses, fear, and learned patterns can contribute to emotional distress. The presenter emphasizes the concept of choice as a means of increasing self-awareness, interrupting unhelpful patterns, and developing greater resilience and personal empowerment. The discussion also considers approaches drawn from coaching, hypnotherapy, and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) while encouraging clinicians to consider how concepts of agency and intentional behavioral change may complement established mental health interventions.
