ODL 424: Keys to Effective Group Counseling: Cultural and Ethical Competencies

3 Credit Hours: Becoming an effective group counselor or psychotherapist demands a wide range of skills.  Cultural competencies, as displayed through cultural humility, cultural comfort, and the ability to capitalize on cultural opportunities, are central for effective practice with a range of people. The skill to work effectively across a range of cultural identities is even more important in group work, in which members with different identities interact with each other. In this intermediate training,  we will explore two central aspects of good group facilitation: cultural and ethical competencies.
