3 Credit Hours: In this training, participants will examine the impact of ageism on mental health, identity, treatment engagement, and access to care in later life. It will also explore strengths-based, culturally responsive, and meaning-centered approaches to working with older adults experiencing transitions related to grief, loss, retirement, caregiving, illness, role change, and social isolation. Through clinical instruction, and case-based application, participants will strengthen their ability to identify age-related bias, recognize resilience and protective factors in older adulthood, and apply practical intervention strategies that support dignity, autonomy, meaning, and psychological well-being.
